Abstract
In his end-of-the-year speech to the nation, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has presented the Strategy 2050, including some declarations and proposals for economical and social devolpment of Kazakhstan in next four decades. That program succeeded to the precedent and now obsolete Strategy 1997-2030. Central premise to the long document is modernization ofState to match ten XXIth Century challenges. The points of Nazarbayev’s new program are: pragmatical economic policies; support to SME’s strenghtening; protection to weaker sectors of society; creation of a public audit system; commitment to regional and global security; generation of a new Kazakh patriotism. Nazarbayev’s design looks to continuity with his past policy: a State-led development of Kazakhstan.
