Abstract
The article analyzes public subjects and legal instruments available to Italian entrepreneurs for fostering their position in foreign markets. Since 2001 in Italy foreign trade is a concurrent jurisdiction of central State and local Regions. Instruments of support to Italian entrepreneurs are a special department in the Ministry of Economic Development, insurance companies SACE and SIMEST, the former ICE now agency of abroad promotion and internationalization, a number of local, abroad and mixed chambers of commerce. Internationalization is not a solution to the crisis, but certainly a useful opportunity for Italian economy.
